Common questions

What should my blood sugar be?
Common reference points for adults without diabetes: fasting under 100 mg/dL (5.6 mmol/L) and under 140 mg/dL (7.8 mmol/L) two hours after meals. Targets for people with diabetes are set individually with their care team, and are often looser in older adults. Agree yours with your own doctor.
How accurate is the estimated A1c?
It is an estimate from your average readings using the standard ADA formula. Finger-prick readings miss the hours you do not test, so treat it as a preview, not a lab result.
Where is my data stored?
The log saves in your browser on this device. Use the CSV download or print button to take it to an appointment.
When is a reading an emergency?
Below 54 mg/dL (3.0 mmol/L) needs fast sugar now. Above 300 mg/dL (16.7 mmol/L) with vomiting, deep breathing, confusion or drowsiness needs urgent medical care.
In an emergency, do not use this site. Chest pain, trouble breathing, weakness on one side, trouble speaking, heavy bleeding, serious injury, or thoughts of harming yourself: contact your local emergency service now.
