Common questions
Who can join?
Licensed doctors of every specialty, physiotherapists, registered dietitians and nutritionists, certified fitness coaches, dentists, psychologists and therapists, and nurses. Member questions are routed to the right kind of expert, so every profession answers only what it should. Questions before applying: doctors@askdoc.life reaches the team directly.
What would I actually do?
Three kinds of work, all remote and scheduled around your practice: answering written member questions in your field, preparing written reviews and explanations, and writing or reviewing guides in your specialty. Video sessions are optional.
Is this telemedicine?
No. AskDoc provides health education, not medical care. You explain, contextualize and prepare people for their own appointments. You never diagnose, prescribe, or treat through the platform, which is what keeps the work clean across borders.
How does verification work?
We check your registration or certification with the issuing council or body, confirm your identity, and review a sample of your written communication. Nothing goes live before that is done.
How is the work paid?
Per piece of work, agreed up front, paid monthly. Rates depend on the work type and your specialty. Details are shared once your application passes screening.
How much time does it take?
As little as a few hours a week. You set your availability and can pause any time.
How much can I earn?
Work is paid per piece at a rate agreed before you start, and paid monthly. We publish no headline number because it depends on your specialty, the work type, and how many pieces you take. What we promise instead: the rate is stated up front, in writing, and never changes after the work is done.
Can I do this alongside my hospital or clinic job?
That is the design. The work is written, asynchronous, and scheduled entirely by you, so it fits around shifts, clinics and family. Most experts contribute a few hours a week. There are no live queues to watch and no minimum hours.
I am board certified in the US, GMC registered in the UK, or hold AHPRA registration. Does that matter?
Yes, and welcome. Registration with any recognized council counts, and specialists holding US board certification, GMC, AHPRA, or equivalent Western registration are especially in demand from our readers. Verification runs against your issuing body either way, and your credentials appear on the work you choose to byline.
What about liability and indemnity?
The scope is what protects everyone: AskDoc publishes health education, reviewed before it goes live, and creates no doctor-patient relationship. You never diagnose, prescribe, or direct treatment on the platform. Many experts still notify their indemnity provider about educational writing work, and we encourage that conversation.
