Can stress cause skin problems?
Yes, stress reliably causes skin problems. Stress hormones inflame skin, slow healing and disturb the barrier, which is why acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and hives all flare in hard seasons, and why itch worsens exactly when sleep is worst.
Stress also drives unconscious scratching and picking that keeps lesions alive.
Treating skin while ignoring a stress storm is mopping with the tap open: sleep, movement, breathing practice and support are dermatologic treatments in disguise. When picking itself has become the habit that maintains the damage, saying so honestly to a doctor opens really effective help.

The one skin product doctors push
Broad-spectrum SPF 50, worn daily, does more against skin aging and skin cancer risk than any cream sold above it. The best sunscreen is the one you will actually wear every morning.
